Adsense counts as regular income, just like from any job. They will send you a 1099 form (I think that's the one) for you (if you are in the U.S.) so that you can put it on your taxes. I've received one for two years in a row now, but I've made several thousand from them. Not too much impact though on my taxes compared to my regular job.
