I believe Sedo gets most (if not all) of their ads from Google AdSense, which is interesting, because you are not allowed yourself to put AdSense on a parked page.
Another interesting thing is that a lot of domains get registered and people never do anything with it. These domains used to sit just there and have a text "Coming Soon" and maybe a link to the registrar. Companies like GoDaddy are now starting to monetize on this traffic by putting ads on these sites themselves with no revenue distribution to the owner (who does not even know or understand what is going on). So all these people with their domains just sitting there have opened up a new revenue stream to the registrar.
Therefore, if you have a domain and are not doing anything with it, you should at least park it somewhere you get revenue distribution. It may pay for a nice dinner sooner or later  | thanks for explaition.
