Scientists Want To eliminate Internet -
04-17-2007, 12:25 PM
The importance of Internet nowadays no longer is no newness. In effect, often it is even possible to talk about to this term like a true Universe whose size, at this point, is practically incommensurable. And like “true” the Universe, Internet every day is in expansion and therefore, is not difficult to follow with the analogies and to arrive at the theory that our Universe will end up colapsando, which generates the same doubt with Internet. A group of scientists is trying to obtain support, from the government of the United States, for “eliminating” Internet and designing something in his place better. Dipankar Raychaudhuri, a Professor of the Rutgers University, indicated that it is a miracle that the Interweb still is operating remembering that was designed for objectives totally different from the present ones (it must remember that the origin of Internet is born of a concept or military technology). Now which the Web it is not restricted by slow connections, processors of Computers and stop storage cost, according to the Professor, his architecture it needs to be replaced. By all means, this raised idea entails to a series of problems. If it were gotten to design a new Internet being started off of zero, then, surely there would be forts political pressures of governments and, economic of Companies, to be able to obtain greater benefits of the new creation. The National Foundation of Sciences (“The National Science Foundation”), tries to construct a network of experimental investigation which has been called “Global for Environment Innovations Network” (“Global Medioambiente for Innovations of Networks” or “GENI”) and at the moment is financing several projects in Universities and other Centers, through program “Future Internet Design Network” (“Design of Future Network of Internet” or “FIND”). According to the investigators, any new Internet could work parallel to the existing one to possibly replace it. It could delay up to 15 years the power to design a “Internet 2” and in addition, it could cost trillions of dollars replacing all the Software and Hardware that at the moment take care in the Web which we know. In fact it is idea is not new. From years back, many experts mainly predict a collapse of the present Internet considering their incredible rate of growth. Most peculiar, he is than now he costs enough to imagine a world without this tool.

It's impossible to eliminate it... Till they offer us something better. Like with CDs -> they invented DVDs and poof, CDs aren't that popular now... Or like with cassette players (like Walkmans) -> now nearly everyone has their own mp3 player that they use!
