If on that forum are some serious people and i have something to learn from them may be i will register. But i would not register on an unknown forum were i' the second member(after the forum admin ).

I wont register if I don't gain anything.. BUt also note that information is something you gain most when visiting forums.. Information is very expensive, priceless maybe..

Well i rely on forums for some information when i need them. But if the forum is for friends then i join that and enjoy chatting with them there... So i join a forum if its informative or has friends whom i know but from where i gain no knowledge....

I probably wouldn't register on forums with no gains for me.
Most websites I signup to have something to offer, like free downloads, or a good community which is actually active! Some forums I also avoid if they are slow, or constantly downtime!
