my experiences told me that submit link to google, then submit sitemap to google and update all you signatures in forums! That way I made my site indexed within 3 days.

Here is my general opinion: You can submit your site to directories, that is a good way to get indexed and get a couple visitors, but it doesn't really help your page rank that much. Doing link exchanges also gets you visitors and gets you indexed but doesn't help your page rank. The only sure fire way is to do it is to have good content.

I would like to suggest you to resubmit your sitemap. This will call google to crawl you site again and make updates.

You have to get a lot backlink to your site so your site will become more popular then the search engine site will reward you a higer Page Ranking. Remember to get the back link from a higer PR, don't bother build back link from unknow website.
