What is the best technique for indexing a new site in google?

I have been using social bookmarking with good success, but I was wondering what everyone else is doing.

umm, register your site for their indexing. that's a really good way to do it, then just get content on your site!

I've done major changes to my website (adding and removing several major pages) but they still have my site listed as how it was months ago...

First things first,
have your site Search Engine Optimization ready.. Have all the meta tags and stuff..
Have a sitemap..
Then you can submit to google via the Webmaster Tools your sitemap
plus, make use of Feedburner servies which enables you to notify google automatically about new content from your site

Search in google and type index of "name"
example if you want to find mp3 its must be index of "mp3"

Add your site to web directories. It'll speed up the process.
