DDPoints Question - 10-28-2006, 04:15 PM

Can I force people to register to DDBoard (using my referral link) from the other forums and I give them my points?? You know like, I give my points to them to sign up to DDBoard using my referral link. Not DDPoints. Points from the other community.

People do that on other boards, it is just like trading points on the other board, but nothing related to DD.

Napoleon.

i dont see anything wrong about it. its actually good for dd board since that person is helping them to get more members in expense of his own resources. and its effective if you would ask me and prefer that way rather than spamming the other forums by blatantly advertising on posts and signatures.

by the way when you say force someone, it means that someone has no other choice but to do it. which is not in that case because anyone can refuse to do it if he/she wants to.

yeah exactly it's not "forcing" it's "incentivizing" forcing may mean you have a gun pointed at them. also we're doing for other forums as well as you can see on ddpoints incentives forum, why not do it for us

I'm just asking this because some of the forums I joined banned people who did that.

it's considered rude to invite some person on forums to join another forum, so you have to do your own invite somewhere else, however people who have already forums or a forum member with an ad place and allows referral to another forum just make sure you post www.ddboard.com and pls. use referrer "sugarblush" something like that you haven't violated their rules IMHO and you haven't posted a referral/affiliate link.

weblord is correct. When I post links ... and I want to earn referals I just put up the link and ask nicely after :
If you sign up please enter my username: User as a referal. It would help us both
