http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs...70395/-1/CINCI

great story.
what are you gonna do with it?

MASON - A tavern's sign, "For Service Speak English," violates Ohio civil rights law, a commission ruled Thursday - as the sign still sat in the window of the Pleasure Inn on U.S. 42.
The Ohio Civil Rights Commission says that, because of the sign, the Pleasure Inn "engaged in discriminatory practices."
As a result of the finding, the business could be ordered to remove the sign, to pay for advertisements about nondiscrimination, and its staff could be ordered to undergo diversity training or cultural sensitivity training, said Christia Alou White, commission spokeswoman.

I agree, little value in this domain, unless you find some hate group that pays more than registration cost. Very difficult to market otherwise.

where do you get the hate group? Those people that owned the restaurant were not obligated to hire people that couldn't speak english.

It was in OHIO.

Well, the phrase "For service speak english" implies to me that the restaurant owners were not very open to welcome foreigners, which is a form of discrimination. The same applies to hate groups, as they discriminate other people.

But I really don't want to get into political discussions. The boottom line is that I think the domain is not worth a lot.

Re: forservicespeakenglish.com - 02-10-2006, 09:48 PM

you are lacking some facts charly.

This story was big on right wing radio a while back because the restaurant got sued.

They claimed it was against their civil rights to have to employ people that spoke Spanish because spanish only speakers woul enter the restuarant and not be understod.

The restaurant claimed if they put a sign in the window that said they need t speak english to get service, they shouldn't be punished if spanish speakers walked in anyway and started not understanding the waitresses or whatever.

doesn't a business have the right to refuse whoever they want?
