How do you appraise a domain?

How do you appraise a domain? I am curious because I stumbled into this part of the forum. I didnt know you could appraise a domain.

you have to look at the name and see how the keywords as searchable on a search engine are present.
you need to see how short it is. Is it hard to type? is it a dotcom or a lower sublevel domain?

If you don't know how to appraise a domain, you are probably the wrong person do do an appraisal. Appraisals should be done by persons with an intimate understanding of the domain name industry.

You can however get domains appraised if you own some domains. There are professional domain appraisal services, or peer-to-peer services (like on this forum).

About how much does it cost you to have your domain appraised? Do you get a discount if you have more than one appraised at a time?
