.xxx idea canned

A SPECIAL domain for sex websites has bitten the dust at an international meeting in New Zealand today, with Australia, the US and the European Union moving to kill off a proposal for ICANN to create a ".xxx" domain for pornography.

I found this article kind of interesting, that they were considering .xxx domains, because my fiance was talking about how .xxx should be made for porn, lol.

how about .sex and .porno? much more clear, i often mistake .xxx as the amount i do for domain appraisal.

yes .sex is very good compared to .xxx
so by the way why should the ICANN create a sseperate TLD for sex and promote net pornography

They were probably hoping to separate those adult-oriented sites from the rest of the sites for internet protection for children, etc., although that assumption would be ideal, since if ever this extension were approved, I doubt all these sites would move to the new extension. At worse, it could have just led to the growth in number of these sites.

yes they may want to create a seperate net world for porn but these publishers will no move to it untill a rule is ammended.

That would have been good, I agree, although even if this extension was approved, it would only be idealistic to think that all porn sites would move to that extension.

They'd have to have all shift from generic to .xxx. They probably won't be too pleased since .xxx is most likely to cost a bundle as opposed to generic domains

This is true, guess I had my rose colored glasses on here heheh.. Can't we make em? LOL just slighty censorship? hehe....

For the record, as much as I'd love to 'make em' I am against censorship even when it suits me :P

I support this idea, so that we are able when they move all porn sites to the new .sex or .xxx TLD we are able to ban children from accessing sites with these extension thus making it easier for us.
