Warning About Domain Renewal SA (domainrenewalonline.com) - 10-26-2007, 07:21 PM

A company named Domain Renewal SA has been sending deceptive renewal emails to Dynadot customers. If you click on the renewal link in the email, Domain Renewal SA will ask for your payment information. Domain Renewal SA charges $79.95 a year to renew a domain versus our price of $7.99 a year. (This is based on a .COM domain.)

They will also ask for your Dynadot account login information so that they can renew your domain for you from within your Dynadot account. This is a huge security risk. Please do not give out your login information to unknown 3rd parties. A Dynadot customer service representative is trained to never ask for your password. More information about keeping your account safe and secure can be found in this article: How to Safeguard Your Account.

Domain Renewal SA gets your information from the Whois database. ICANN requires us to publish your contact information in the Whois database so people can contact you regarding any issues with your domain. Unfortunately, it also allows unscrupulous companies like Domain Renewal SA to get your contact information.

If you receive an email from Domain Renewal SA, we recommend you delete it. Here is a sample Domain Renewal SA email (with the domain name blurred out):
