what is domain parking

yeah i realize this is proubably a dumb question that has been asked a million time but i can't find the answer thus im posting it again.

What is domain parking and what are the advantages of parking your domain

There are sites which offer You cash when You park Your domain on their services . They use Your domain to show ADDs to others .
If You buy a new domain and don't want to use it for some time - you parking it to get some cash
I'm not 100% sure... but that is all about i think

go to your registar and then login your account,
and change the dns server settings to your new hosting site's new dns servers
just simple step.

Domain parking is:
You have a domain from registrar then you have to add(park) your domain on a host.
Host give you space and bandwith, registrar give you ONLY the domain.
To make a site you need host.

Some sites will pay u to park your domains. They will earn the money from the advertisements.

Yeah,its a good for earning money.You can park your domains so that it points to other website.

This is a simple description ,but lousy. What is being asked, what is it exactly domain parking and how is it going to be beneficial to the owner of the domain.
