They can not give it to you because it`s your domain and nobody has taken it away. Doesn`t matter parked or not. Compare it to hosting - domain hosted in somebodys server does not mean giving it away to hosting company and "asking back" when you choose another hosting company for instance. What matters is who is registered as owner of domain.

The domain parking service doesn't have any control over what you do with your domain. You change the DNS with your registrar, not with the parking company. The previous example of a webhost is accurate. Just because they are providing you a service doesn't mean you're giving them any power over the domain. The name's registration details will still be in your name. The parking company can't change that.

At NameDrive we have brokers who can actively shop the name for you and find a buyer. We also have Park&Sell and Spotlight Domains which are more like eBay (you can look at the ones listed on NameDrive.com). If you don't want to sell though, obviously you don't have to.
