Domain parking = worth it? -

Let's say you don't get your domain free but bought it for $9.
Is it worth it to park your domain? Will the revenue generated can cover the domain cost?
that really depends if you post links to the parked domain.
If nobody knows about it ... you probably won't generate a penny from it.
I do have some domains parked with sedo and I made about 30 EUR from them with no advertising or buying links. Just linkbacks to them on different websites.
You could make some cash if you manage to order a domain that is a mismatch of a very popular domain name.
for example if you have gooogle.com or googler.com you could make $XXX / month from domain parking

If you own a domain that is an excellent generic it will likely get traffic because people assume that it must be a site, thus they will navigate there directly.
If you have a domain that is a typo of the above 'excellent generic' the same would hold true. You'd likely get traffic.
If you have a domain that is a typo of an existing site, you will likely get traffic accidentally.
If you have an expired site--a domain that used to be a popular website and for whatever reason dropped to you--you'll likely get traffic.
There are a number of other domains that could wind up with traffic, but these are just the obvious, easy-to-explain ones.
well .. it would really depend on the domain name itself .. if you have a domain which is just a long string of numbers .. i doubt anybody would mistype even .. it would be hard to get traffic for those ..
but if its a domain typo .. then i believe you can get quite some bit from domain parking .
It's definitely not worth buying a domain for the sake of parking it - but if you have run a website and decided to shut the site down, with a daily flow of traffic still going to it... It would be better than displaying a 404 message.
