How does one go from page rank 0 to page rank 123456+

Aside from linking to sites that have page rank, are there any other strategies to getting your site/blog indexed and to aquire page rank?

There are lots of things that should be cared to increase the Page rank of the site.
total visitors per day,
link popularity,
number of pages indexed by some search engines,
be a good search engine optimised web site,
and lots of more

meaning your site is being linked by high page ranked sites..
that will really boost your pagerank

oneway links are more powerful thank reciprocal links, search engine considers them as a vote and increase your Page Ranking

Using your signature in forums alone could really help ya generate hundreds of backlinks to your site, which greatly helps in raising your Page Ranking rating

My blog went from page rank 0 to 4, and I attribute that mainly to one way links to relevant sites. In particular the one age rank 6 blog is likely what did it. I am happy though as I have only had the blog for 2 months

You have to get tons of backlinks. Higher Page Ranking links are always good.
