Dont put your eggs in the same basket...

Hi,
I would like to tell you about my Sedo experience. I've been using Sedo for about 3 years and I would like to warn people about them.
I'm very disappointed with the results, considering I came to them because they're supposed to be one of the best Domain Reseller websites. But when you have a big portfolio of domain names and you want fast sales Sedo is just not the place to go to.
This is usually what happens... you list a domain name which has been over-valued by their staff, they let you hope you will make a lot of money etc.. basically they are over-valueing your domain so that their commission will be higher, that is IF you do sell. The high price puts off 90% of buyers though and, like me, you may well end up waiting for years to sell your domain names. Meanwhile Sedo is getting traffic...

The point is, if you are going to list your names for sale on Sedo, dont just list them there and wait for cash! I'm now advertising my domains on a lot of other (smaller) websites with lower prices and I'm finally getting regular offers for my domains. You have to be realistic, and Sedo is just not realistic at all.

I totally agree with what you said about not putting all your eggs in one basket. I have better results when I spread my business out to several lower-priced sites than when I spend alot of money at one place. Just because something costs more doesn't always mean it's better.

Of course sedo will appraise very high, because they want to hype up the domain reselling market..... I never trust appraisals anyway...

affiliate and parking is being hyped as well, mostly by affiliate revenue driven resellers who may not be around this time next year.

Yes ABSOLUTELY right about the home page. Typing in a neat url or just exploring some type-in versus the whois query makes a really disappointing result when it's just a parking page. Screeetch!

Have you ever even tried to get in touch with people about their web site? It's like, we'll take $2400 or nothing. And then a year later they let it go thru the drop list for $35 because nobody wanted to pay their sticker price.
