Dotster renewal reminders - 04-09-2008, 11:48 AM

Hello,

I have a domain name with auto-renew activated at dotster.

But they send me renewal reminders emails every week starting 90 days before expiration. I thought about renewing now but i noticed they would just charge me for 1 year and renew for 1 year starting NOW (?)

Do they charge people for 1 year and then push people to renew (and pay again) after 9 months only by flooding their mailboxes with reminders? I think one can disable these reminders but still...

Thank you for your comments

They send the letter is because want to remind you to renew domain. As you know some of the people forgot to renew the domain and the domain drop after the domain being register by others only they realize but it was too late. Hence, it's a process to secure your domain.

For the renewals length it should be 1 year. For example, if u register your domain with them at 1st January 2008 and should be till 1st January 2009 but if you renewals at 3 months before, which maybe is 1st September 2008 your domain will be till 1st January 2010 only expire. Hope this info can help u.

Also, you can use coupon code " htmli.info " (without "") which to leading you to save 15% of entire order, including renewals and transfer. Some more, the coupon code is valid on mydomain.com also.

Well, this is the purpose of the auto-renew option that I activated (no need to remind)

I'll renew my domain manually a few weeks before expiration and I'll see what the new expiration date is.
