Any experiences with eNom? - 09-22-2004, 06:01 PM

I have heard that eNom is the best reseller out there. I have tried their services, but it seems that you get higher buy rates if you buy a smaller amount of domains. This makes it difficult to jump start your business. On the other side, if you buy large quantities as a small business you are left without cash as you have to pay them upfront.

Do you know of any alternatives? Ideally I am looking for a company with a solid API, low buy rates, and ideally no up-front payments.

Thanks.
Charly

Interesting... - 10-13-2004, 05:38 PM

That is interesting. During the past few weeks, the name cnobin.com is coming up more and more. From what I know, they must be big in the asian market and are now crossing over to the rest of the world.

I have signed up for a free (starter) account and have been poking around to see what my impression is before making a pre-payment (minimum: $99) and so far I like what I see.

Is there anyone out there who has a reseller account with CNOBIN. What is your general experience with them?

Regards.
Charly

As they offer free info domains from 26th, Sep to 10th, Oct, and did not require credit card information, I think that is the reason why cnobin.com coming up more and more in these weeks. But the free offer is end.

I have a premier account with CNOBIN. It seems everything is OK till now. Their rate and service is the reason why I choose cnobin.com as my domains registrar.

But there are some aspects really boring me. First one is that I must email or open a ticket to them to push domains. As I prefer automatism. Second, although their gTLD rate is good for me, their biz and info is not competitive and I cannot transfer biz and info domains to their too. But their specialist said info will be available to transfer to their soon. I am waiting for that. The last is they cannot support multi-users. So that my customers could not open account for their own users. But multi-users is not very important for me.

I will keep to cooperation with cnobin.com.

What about reselling - 10-14-2004, 10:44 AM

Thanks for the info Namepower, have you also used cnobin to resell domain names to your customers, so that they have their own account, etc? If so, what plan are you using (A, B, or C) and do you need to get involved at all with the customers (billing, support, etc.).?Thanks. John

I am using Mode A. My domain partners are also my friend. I create account for my partners and set same price as mine. And we register domains for our own purpose. So that I do not need to offer support. If i meet some problem, I will contact with them via MSN directly. I am not sure about Mode B and C. Maybe you can add their MSN, and get information from them or wait someone to give you answer.

I would recommend you to work with eNom. Although you are right about the first deposit when you are starting your business later you won't regret. You can also start with a free $8.95 reseller account (I will provide you one if you need it) and later push the domains to another account when you have enough domains. Just a thought.

What about Wild West Domains. I think they belong to the GoDaddy group? How do you think their reseller program is?

WWD will share your revenue , charge you anual fees just to be a reseller , will sell you the API while others give for free .
