This is a bit late. But I'll explain anyway.
ICANN-accredited domain registrars are truly the only companies on earth who can register and
manage domain names. Only a few can handle the technical, financial, legal, and administrative
responsibilities of running a registrar business.
To expand their business, registrars form as many reseller partnerships as possible. This is a
win-win solution for many since registrars gain more business, while resellers can offer domain
registrations without the costs of actually running one.
Major problems occur if the reseller goes belly-up for whatever reason or if the customer ends
their service "prematurely" with the reseller, mostly a hosting company. You'll find a lot of horror
stories online of such cases.
Bottom line, you'll get better treatment with a domain registrar rather than a reseller for your
domain name registration and management needs. There are notable exceptions, but they're
very few.

Hope this helps. |
