Cheap hostings -whats the catch

I would like to know what is the catch with these cheap hostings.

I mean why should we not opt for them rather reasons for hosting with more expensive hosts.

I am new to this so an explaination might be useful

Well, I think the question would be the catch with free hosting. Cheap hosting is good enough if there are a lot of customers. If only a few buy it, then the host should probably focus more on online advertising at their site and cheaper or even free hosting (to gain more members).

cheap = more people will buy..
therefore more sales..

The catch:
the catch is that MOST (not all) web hosting peoviders would either require to be active in Forums (forums have ads = money),
or either,
they would display their ads on you website in each and every page.
(ads on your sites = money).
