Free web hosting is for those who want a website for their personal/business needs that is not going to be making large amounts of money nor huge traffic quotas. Someone who has a hobby and wants to make a website for example could utilise free web hosting. A personal home business may use free hosting.

Paid hosting is for those of us who are either scared that their free hosting will be unreliable and gather spam and adverts and will have a lot of downtime. Or simply because the service provided when you pay is far greater (as with anything)...

I have a number of friends and colleagues who use free hosting and their sites are doing exceptionally well!

main thing to keep in mind is cPanel...

I <3 CPanel, though I'm not into using Fantastico and all that, CPanel is a nice interface for a newbie like me to use.

i had used and using both free and paid host but what i find means if we use free host we need to post or keep their links or use their ads to support their host but hosts works good
anyway i am happy with free host one which i use ray9.net

i think that free hosting is the same as paid hosting bequse there is no difference only that paid hosting costs money and free dont
if using free hosting service only thing is to find the right hosting service that wount fall by month of hosting

freehost only offer limited services, i better to buy a good package from reputable webhosting company. These days webhosting is not very much expensive. try bluehost

free web hosting has always been very popular and there are some very reliable free hosts out there.

Free hosts are good, but if you run a professional site, you can't afford to have down times or short bandwidth which means you'll have to go to a paid host.

Usually, as I have noticed, free web hosts try to do well even for those customers who don't pay them yet so the customers will be more enticed to upgrade to paid web hosting. I dunno. I think that is usually their pattern for e-commerce. More likely... I guess.

I don't think free hosting is really the way to go if you want to have a successful online business.
Paid services offer more and from my view are better
