http://www.byethost.com/ is an excellent free webhost, they offer 4 free packages, here they are:
1. Storage Max- 250mb space,20gb bandwith,20 sub-domains,2 mysql databases
2. Mysql pro- 150 mb space, 20 gb bandwith, 20 subdomains, 10 mysql databases
3. Traffic master- 100 mb space, 30 gb bandwith, 20 subdomains, 2mysql databases
4. Subdomain pro- 150 mb storage, 20 gb bandwith, unlimeted subdomains, 2 mysql databases.

All of the above packages are free, they have a google ad at the top of every page, but that can be fixed with a <div> tag

The reason i dont use them is because i was using it for a php proxy (similar to http://www.poxyproxy.com ) and i guess it overloaded the surevr and it crashed (oops!).
They also have ftp, and cpanel.

Nice. I'll probably end up using this. It seems to fit my needs more than the other free hosting sites around.

Basically what you need to do is create a div layer, or to make it simple, a new layer. This new layer should have a box the exact size of the google ad, and the same backround color as your site. All so you must have the tag positioned at the top of your page. To make it simple....... Copy the below code, RIGHT after your opening <body> tag. Now where it is highlighted, put the path to a blanck .gif file that has the backround color of your page. Make the size of the image ANYTHING LARGER than With 468px by Height 60 px . I would suggest making this your head banner, or even put your own ad's here

Yeah i have been with them before they have a very reliable uptime and are very fast for websites the only thing i didnt like was the ads at the top of the page that is what put me off although there is a code you can get to remove it, if you would like it PM and i shall give you it.

Would this not be aganst their TOS? If it is, then i wouldnt risk losing my site with this

I don't like the website who make you use theire google ad... I prefer to post for hosting
