dedicated servers cost too much to give away free!
a dedicated server is not an automated process, so they would at least have to charge a setup fee. beyond that, a company can't afford to have one computer being taken up for every person who uses their free service. that just wouldn't work.

yeah , you can't find dedicated hosting for less than 50$ a month , and some cost hundreds of dollars . If you found something , it's probably a scam .

I think what OP was asking for was hosting provider that uses dedicated server themselves. A lot of free hosting providers are using a reseller plan from a larger company, and as such there could be a longer delay between server problem report and solution compared to hosting providers that are using their own dedicated server.

JumpLine used to give free VPS hosting from time to time... Try searching for invitation links if there are any left... That was a year ago and I don't know if they still do that.
