Copyright question.

I was wondering if it was legal to have copyrighted material (as in songs) on my podcast if i gave credit to the artist and copyright holder?

It will be illegal if you don't have permission. Better to ask that artist or copyright holder. They may charge you for podcasting.
If you do podcasting without their permssion, you will get into trouble.

It would be illegal to use the copyrighted material without the author's permission (you need to ask permission from them [usually involves money]).
Even if you gave credit to the authors and copyright holder, you still need to seek permission from them to use it.

well in most cases you will really need to tell the person since if they find out about it and youre famous already, They will sue you..
