New MS Office

Hey! What do you think of this new microsoft's product? Does it rock?
Or you better prefer open office...?

Well. If I want to install M$ Office, I would have to install it on Wine. Not that it's bad, because Wine is a great product, but it would be slightly less convenient and inefficient. Yes, I prefer OpenOffice.org.

Microsofts new office certainly doesn't rock - its bloated and slow.

I'm using MS Word 97 and I don't see the reason to switch to new M$ Child ... waste of ca$h

The only thing nice about MS Office is it's new user interface. It costs too much, and I'd rather stick with OpenOffice or my trusty Wordpad.

I'm sticking with openoffice. Microsoft office is too bloated and too expensive, especially as the student edition drops half the programs.

I prefer Microsoft Office 2007. Although it requires you to "invest"/purchase it, it is worth it. There are more features in Microsoft Office 2007 compared to OpenOffice. The user interface in Microsoft Office 2007 looks pleasing, and simplifies/reduces the steps needed to get the result you want.
*However, it would not hurt to have both Microsoft office and OpenOffice in the same computer.

This is the first time i've heard of openoffice I like what you all are saying about it and am going to read up on tihs, i may just get this instead of the other, thanks for posting

i am planning to switch to Koffice, i prefer OpenOffice.org. I am forced to use MS Office...
