Canada doesn't require registration fees! If you create it, then it is yours!

To clarify some facts:
-Generally, you do not need to pay anything for copyright. If you create it (and can prove that you created something first), then the copyright is yours. Copyright can be said to be automatic.
-You can register copyright. Registering copyright requires you to pay fees, but it allows you to bring up copyright in court (I think).

You really don't have to pay for copyright in the U.S., but if your like making a new invention, you might want to get a patent number!
