Getting problem in limewire - 07-31-2007, 06:32 AM

Hi friends... I'm getting problem in limewire. The downloading of files suddenly stops for few seconds and then resumes once again after few seconds. This happens often when i download. So for a file of 100MB it will take one hour normally to download. But for me its taking around 1 1/2 hour to download. Can anyone tell me what can be the problem? I reinstalled it once again thinking it might help but no use. The problem is still there.

When you did the reinstall did you use the latest version?

I had a problem similar but not exactly the same as this, I don't think upgrading to the latest stable version fixes it but I upgraded to the latest Beta version and it was fixed, the latest Beta works fine and is stable for me.

Limewire does this occasionally - because it is a peer-2-peer client. As the file is actually uploaded by someone online for everyone else to download, the download speed pretty much depends on how much is uploaded on the other side. Thus, if there is not much uploading activity, you won't get much downloading activity either.
*This is usually a random occurence, and may not really affect the downloaded file's integratity, but only the download speed.
*Peer-2-peer sharing is unlike normal downloading from a site. Download speed depends on your internet connection speed, as well as the other peers'.
