Trademark is a distinctive sign or indicator of some kind which is used by an individual, business organization or other legal entitity to uniquely identify the source of its products and/or servvices to consumers, and to distinguish its products or services from those of other entities.

CopyRight is a set of exclusive rights regulating the use of a particular expression of an idea or information. At its most general, it is literally "the right to copy" an original creation. In most cases, these rights are of limited duration. The symbol for copyright is "©", and in some jurisdictions may alternatively be written as either (c) or (C).

Thats the difference .. hope it helps.

Windows is "respected" as a copyrighted software, but also "respected" as a
trademark for it.

One can establish one or both locally or internationally. But both come with a
high burdening responsibility of protecting and enforcing or risk losing them.

I always thought trademarks were for logos and names, and copymarks were for works or art and real products.
