Wordpress Template -
02-01-2008, 05:27 AM
I want to make a wordpress template but I don't really know how to code it. So basically I got a template that I like (this one: Several3 Wordpress Theme | Wordpress Themes )
and changed it. The result is this:
Do I still have to put the originals author link at the bottom and can I sell it or I have to make the template from scratch?

Well if you changed the code completely, I don't see why you should credit the original designer, but if you kept the base code as is and changed the colors/headers, then I think you should credit the designer for his/her hard work in making the design.

The best way is to contact template original author.
Ask him what you want to do and how, and you will get response soon.
Good luck with your template m8

Well, I guess you have to give credits for work that you have created out from somebody elses idea. Likewise for essays you have done in school, I am sure you have done footnotes or bibliographies, otherwise it will be called plagarism and for this instance, it is called infringing copyrighted content. So better give some credits and inform the original owner about it.

When I began blogging I always left out the credits, but then I realised it is not necessary... What can a link or two in the footer take out from your traffic?
