Royalty Free Fonts?

For example, if for the logo of my website I want the font of my website name to be say, Arial. Is it legal for me to use it? If not what other alternative fonts are there that I can use for free without obtaining a license?

Well all the fonts that are already present in your OS are legal for you to use coz if you use windows , you have alreeady bought them by paying for the whole os this goes with other os 's too . But if you want to download more free fonts go to www.dafont.com

The ones that come with your PC are OK, but I'm not sure about ones you download. I think that they're OK, I have to say, I've used them in the past.

Speaking about fonts, can anyone help me find a font similar to VAG Rundschrift and Arial Rounded Bold/Extra Bold, but free?

Its important to add that even though buying the OS pays for the fonts, you cant package them and distribute them. (eg: you cant create logos for others in that font & include the font file)

As long as you don't try to somehow sell the arial font and redistribute it then you're safe and legal.
