Taking my domain. - 01-23-2006, 11:46 AM

Take two.

A while I registered a domain, as you do.

I recently received an email from a big corporate company called SanJo (Company name has been changed to to legalities).

They sent me a KK-Application and asked me to sign on the dotted line.
Please can you tell me a little about this letter and do they have any legal rights to take my domain name from me?

Letter can be found here

I look forward to your reply.

I think anybody can threathen anybody with such a letter. If you believe that the the claim is fully baseless, you may just want to ignore it. If however there is a possibility that the claim may be justified, you will need to consider your next steps.

You could try contacting the company and see if you can negotiate a fee for turning over the domain.

I agree with Charly said. Investigate more into their claims. Anybody can send you a letter like this, there are many scammers out there. Watch out!

I would at least check to see if the comapny is even legitimate. I agree that there are alot of scammers out there. The may just be trying to fool you into signing your rights away. ( kind of like a phishing scam) I hope you haven't signed anything yet.

do a trademark search. if they are not registerd owner, report them to ICANN for making false claims.

Did they list an attorney you can call?

the trademark part i would suggest doing some whois's and see if they DO own names in that neighborhood.

check out trademarks
if there isn't any, then you have nothing to worry about
if there is, then you have to tread carefully!
