Is there a way of hiding your publisher number from your source?

If you are referring to the affiliate number in the AdSense script then I think the answer is no, since you are not allowed to modify the script (plus you need the number so you get the credit of any clicks).

Having said that, maybe there are some advanced programming techniques to pull in the script without making it visible in the source. That would be beyond my capabilities.

One thing I can think of is using a frame and forwarding a page into the frame, then you don't see the source. You will however still be able to see the source if you call the forwarded page directly.
