[resolved] mysql problem (not ddboard related) - 09-20-2006, 05:21 PM

tere was no other palce to post this, but i feel this is most apropriate
anyways i have one mysql database but i have 1 forum(needs database) and a userface login(like facebook.com) also requires mysql if i put in the same data for the mysql setup, will the members be able to register once but have an account at both the forum AND the user internface?

it depends you must have the same db fields for them to coincide and make sure you make backup first, but this is a risky action if you want mysql db shared among your application if one is prone to exploitation, other application might suffer.

yes you can or add prefix to your tables just to make sure it won't over write existing ones with similar field names.

adding a prefix seems to be the best option if you want to share a database, but its still risky.
