Back link building is a main thing. quality links is required , means back link in between relative content pointing to your site - this is called off page optimization.

you have to add fresh content regularly to your site - on page optimized for particular key word.

Optimization varies WRT to search engine slightly Search Engine Optimization for google is diff from yahoo and MSN.

G and Yahoo has Sand boxing period "10 weeks"where as MSN doesn't so you have to Optimize for MSN first then y and G

SE follows the links from other sites to crawl your site

actually it's not that easy to make a blog if you do all the coding by yourself.. this is what i do and i can't say it's easy but it's also not that boring as to use wordpress or some kind of blogs software..

Probably you have write posts on a regular basis either daily (or) weekly. It takes time that your blog becomes a premier in your niche, mostly more than a year

Traffic will grow with time. So only many online business guys are interested in aged domains rather than to register a new one. More over catchy names are already taken

Repeated traffic (or) direct navigational type-in traffic will increase steeply if your domain name is aged, sexy, memorable & Generic niche, length and no of words is not a main thing.

I am not jotting it as i am a domainer. I am able to feel this in my experience that " product - keyword" domains traffic increases month by month, after few years it will have a steady traffic by doing nothing

using link in forum
banner and text link exchange
Posting ad's in the adboard and so on.

I dun think so.

People love craps.

Craps will always get the traffic first.

Before that crap becomes obvious to the people that it is crap, you'll get another crap.

It goes in cycle.

That's why more and more people are cheated everyday that makes you wonder why they never learn from their mistakes.

It's not that they never learn.

It's that they never know they have been cheated.
