and searching on google for
inurl:guestbook.php
and then signing the guestbooks
with your website link in it (its spam though)

Another way is to put news as your website/forum, then repost the article with a link back to your site as the source.

you can also make an agreement with another website to be affliates.

I use Forum Board Signature feature, and make a hell lot of posts and get advertisement + somethings else too. But I also use Chatrooms and post my link to fill up the whole page and sign-out before people shout at me.

Now some people sign-out when they see me.
I ruin chatrooms. Not good but itz only chatrooms and no matter after a couple of seconds.


And I search Skype users and invite them after talking a bit.

posting in guest books will not be a spam if you see the website properly, it will not give you any free advertising but free backlink

NO ads, Just backlink. If your website similar with taget website, this can increase and tune up your page rank. But if not similar, this method will make your pagerank fly down
