Ok.
Most templates that you download for Joomla are standard templates that can be automatically installed. I will tell you how to install these templates.

1. Go to the admin area of your Joomla installation.

2. There is a nav bar at the top that has lots of different options. Scroll over the installers menu and a drop down menu should appear. Click on "Templates - Site "

3. You will now be in the installer bit to install website templates. It gives you the option to upload a package file. Click browse and find the template that you downloaded.

4. Click upload and install, it will then upload the template and install it. You should then be redirected to the template manager.

5. Select the button next to the template you want to install, and then click on "Default", this will apply the template to all the different pages in your Joomla installation.

That will make the template install. If it is not a normal package template you will have to do it in the manual harder way. If this doesn't work then tell me and I will tell you how to do it the manual way.

Thanks
Calum

1. I used joomla 1.5 which didn't have a template option
2. Now I installed joomla 1. And i found where it gives me the option to upload a package file. But when I want to upload (zipped or unzipped) it gives me an error and says Upload template - Upload Failed
