i use Adobe Photoshop CS2 + Dreamweaver 8 to build my site, sometime will use Flash 8, but my Flash is really bad, just can do very simply things.

I usually use Adobe Photoshop CS 8 for designing and Dreamweaver MX for coding ! somtimes use firework for Menus etc but not tat much !

dean's right, adobe photoshop + macromedia dreamweaver is a great couple, when combined they can do awesome things.

Well, if you're really good with minimalist design and CSS all you need is the Gimp and a nice text editor and you're all set to go. I've seen some amazing designs that didn't need Photoshop, or Dreamweaver.

I use quite a wide range of tools depending on the web site itself. Sometimes I'll use Macromedia Captivate to include video tutorials on a site, while other times all I'll need is Photoshop/Image Ready and Dreamweaver. I occasionally use Xara Webstyle (when I'm feeling lazy or uncreative), Audacity, KoolMoves (for simple flash layouts/animations), Macromedia Flash (for more advanced flash work) and Notepad++ if I can't be bothered waiting for Dreamweaver to load. I've also mentioned why I used Dreamweaver and Notepad++ in this thread
