I'll try it. Its supposed to compress files to a really small size.

i have winrar installed on my system.
I usually use it to compress my data for archiving and other data transfer.
The compression ratio offered by RAR file format is very high (esp. in solid archives) as compared to the ZIP format.
but for compressing files into zip format, i use the windows XP's built-in compression facility to compress.

I have WinZIP and WinRAR installed which I use for normal compression/decompression (.zip, .rar etc.)
If I am compressing something large for other people to download I use UHARC which gives loads of compression, t-Mann posted WinUHA which is a version of UHARC with a GUI, I just use UHARC without a GUI.
Also t_mann you said you only use it to send files to friends that also have UHARC installed. You do not need to have UHARC installed to decompress the files, anyone can because the UHARC decompresser is embedded into the executable batch file that is created in the compression.
