What do you use to compress/decompress archives.

starting at rar 1.0 for dos to now,i use winrar 3.6x
and it can create a zip for use in linux enviroment.

I am using 7 zip, opensource software. I have done it's translation in my local language "marathi". It's nice; support multple compression format.

I use 7-zip portable edition, as I keep it on my USB drive.

I mainly use Winrar, but I have 7-zip installed as well. I use it rarely.

I like Winrar because I like thier interface better than 7-Zip's. I can also install themes for Winrar and it's always better when you can customize.

No votes for winzip - thats rather surprising. Its good to see i'm not the only 7-zip lover, and i have used winrar before also. Winzip doesn't support rar files but winrar (obviously) and 7-zip do.

I use 7-zip, for extracting/archiving some daily files (like .zip, .rar and .tar).
It can extract .img (for extracting and installing some nice Microsoft betas) and .iso files (for seeing what's inside an ISO) as well, which is an added bonus.

winrar for sure. winzip also good, but winrar also having winzip compression and also some more options than winzip

I primarily used winzip for compressing and unzipping files. I also have winrar installed in my computer.
