hi, i need a script that can tell which surfers are using proxy browsers and have them denied access to my site

no, its bcuz i have downloads on my site, and i am using a php script to limit the number of downloads per user per day, and people with proxy browsers can get by it very easily

I don't think it's possible, because you can't tell if it's their actual IP address, or they're using someone elses.

You could make users have to register, and if they log on with 2 different IPs, ban them.

That'd be horrible for dynamic IP users and people who use dial-up. I know proxies can be detected, some sites check certain IPs to see if they're proxies, but I don't know how to do it. Just saying it seems possible.

Perhaps you could have a forum and only registered users who posted some can download. Make the posts low, like 1-5 posts, and it'll be ok.

That's actually a better idea than mine, because if you ban them, they'll just proxy back in again.

you could get a list of proxy browsers and then ip deny each ip addresses they use
