theres tons of free tuts on the internet, I recommend youtube or google video for some nice video tuts.

I suggest not using tutorials, just play around with photoshop. It takes longer to learn, but pays off because you aren't restricted to what you learned. From what I've seen, they best photoshoppers learn by themselves and only use tutorials when they have specific questions.

I'm a gfx maker for about a year and I just play around with my brushes. but I use gimp though. I have read 1 or 2 tuts, no harm. sometimes usefull!
